 jean valjeans parents died and he was raised by his sister and her husband later on his sister had 7 kids and their father had died so now it was jean valjeans that had to feed the kids and he had to work hard later they became to poor to aford any bread they had ran out completly so jean valjeans had gone to steal some bread soon after they had caught him and he went to jail he tried escaping several times but they always caught him he learned that his sister had only one child and they abused that child and he tried escaping for that last child to help him

Nobody wanted the prisoner until he came to the bishops house he noticed the bishops house was unlocked so he entered he was afraid they wouldnt want him but instead it was the opposite

 the prisoner didnt know why the bishop had allowed him to sleep next door to him if he was a complete stranger 

First impression the story relates to the time were living in. The bishop lets his door open and hears a knock and lets a stranger in, which is the prisoner
